Teddy Bear Coat – a Shopping Guide

If you follow me on Instagram, you might’ve seen a teddy bear coat pop up on my stories. It was one of my birthday gifts and I broke it in the very same night. I always gravitate towards these sorts of bulky, fluffy and comfy looking coats. You might also have noticed my long time love of faux fur coats (seen here, here and here). Not trying to hide it from anyone. And this year, there has been a major boom. If last year, only a few selected stores like¬†Acne Studios and H&M had one, this year, most brands have several, similar models.

I’m keen on the texture, the playfulness and versatility of these pieces. I say this about a lot of items, but it’s a key element to be able to dress it either up or down. If I can wear a teddy bear coat to a formal dinner party and a Sunday brunch, I feel like I’ve won. And that being said, I got a great piece for my birthday (which I could not find online) and want you to find similar styles as well. Because they are such a great investment and, if you go for the fast fashion, not expensive at all.

There are so many different styles to choose from. But because winter in New York is brutal, I went for the long version, while keeping my eye on short versions as well. Do you like this trend? Would you ever buy such a playful item? I’d love to know.
