Pink Faux Fur Coat and Bell Bottom Jeans

I admit I may have a problem. I’m back to being a little girl, in love with her barbies and their dream house. A few years ago I completely banish pink from my closet. You wouldn’t catch me in anything even remotely aspiring the tone. But then last year, I found this sweater and this jacket. And this year, I found this gorgeous pink faux fur coat from Zara (similar here).

My grandmother used to have a lot of (real) fur coats. I’ve never seen them until a few years ago and, even though she left me one, I’ve never worn it. But faux fur, give me all you can. I love it! You remember the 5 different outfits with the leopard faux fur? Or this cutie from Madewell? I’ve been wearing this pink one with everything lately. Out to dinner, for casual errands. It’s a very versatile piece that can be worn up or down.

It’s not a particular practical piece on those very cold days because of the collar. The open round collar and the not closing up. In New York, you definitely need a practical coat during winter. It gets pretty, pretty cold, and you’ll want to be wearing the most warm item you have in your closet. Of course, sometimes, fashion trumps comfort but, I guess I’m getting a bit too old for that.

Even skinny jeans are practically banished.

Given that the coat is a bit stuffy around the shoulder area, and I have a short neck, I tie my hair in a messy ponytail. This trick allows me to gain a few inches, still maintain a certain elegance and, of course, add a bit of messiness to the whole look.
