Sunshine In My Print Pocket

Zara Ribbed Polo Shirt and Cropped Pants, Charlotte Stone Lars Mule and Céline Sunglasses.

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen me peruse this outfit. It was, again, the weekend New York temperatures were high. And so was my spirit. It’s so great to feel a mood swing when it’s warm, sunny and you don’t have to worry about layers. Especially in outfits that make you feel like you’re walking on air. You can see here how at ease and confident I felt. Which is not an easy state for me to get to.

Spring and summer always mean lighter and warm colors, fun prints and slip-on shoes. Especially in a mostly grey city, you should be the one standing out. And these pants remind me of a pair I had a few years ago, but didn’t properly fit. Both the pants and knit are gone. Which makes me circle back to the cycle of fashion – something I’ll be talking about more often here.

Last week, I went to an event at The Wing. It was a screening of a new TV show premiering this coming weekend – Sweetbitter. It was all women, and a lot of different styles. But one thing I did notice was a lack of prints. I myself was dressed exactly like thisand felt kind of boring. I realize it’s the perfect go-to outfit to have, but where was my trying spirit? And everyone else’s by the way!

As I’m writing this, I’m sitting at The Wing, on a Saturday, wearing a bold print you’ve seen me in before. Just to contradict a bit the neutral fad. Like this outfit, making me feel all kinds of good and yellow. Perfect for those sunset-rooftop-cocktails kind of day.
