There are days when all you want to do is put on 3 or 4 pieces of clothing and get on with it. That was this day. It was a Monday. I woke up pretty early to get a jump start on e-mails, readings, posts. I worked from bed – because on Monday’s my husband has the morning off. It’s nice to just sit next to him while he sleeps with our dog. It was around 11am when I got out of bed to do my morning tea. I realized I had to shoot a video for an upcoming post but also walk Poppy. I immediately turned to easy-to-put-on-pieces and a denim jacket to top.
For me, easy-to-put-on-pieces are a great knit, a pair of jeans, some sneakers and a light jacket. Basically emulating either early fall or late spring. I went to walk Poppy, and by the time I came back, my husband was ready to shoot. So I just put on a pair of earrings, some lipstick and we did it. Later on, he got a lesson cancelled, so I asked him to shoot an outfit of the day, exactly as I was. I switched the sneakers for the heels and off we went. We shot in the front of our building, middle of the road.
Only after, I realized I was pairing denim on denim. But this denim jacket is one of my favorite ones. And I was ecstatic to be wearing it in the beginning of February, in New York. It sounds boarder line insane. But since the weather is crazy and global warming is giving us this chance, I never hesitate to put on the denim jacket. And again, the socks and heels thing, which has been one of the best fashion trends ever.
