Sunday, Gucci Tee and the Roxy Hotel

Exploring New York City is one of my favorite things to do. Granted, I don’t do it that often, but at least one day of the week is taken, for me and my husband to have brunch and walk around. Now that we live closer to the city, it’s so easy to get from one place to the other. This past Sunday we went all in. Started with brunch at Atrium Dumbo (we both recommend the burger and orange juice). A walk through the Brooklyn Bridge, all the way to Downtown Manhattan. A peek into the Oculus at the World Trade Center. And a quick stop in Chinatown (hopefully you followed along on Insta Stories).

While going towards Canal Street, I recognized the Roxy Hotel. Almost a year ago, we went for a drink at a bar next to it and, I remember telling M that I wanted to go back and snap a few pictures. We never did. And by chance, this past Sunday, we ran into it and bam! Magic. I love the classic façade of the building and the 1920’s movie theater vibe.

Onto the outfit. I’ve had both this coat and t-shirt for a while, but never worn either. The classic Gucci tee that everyone is sporting right now was a splurge. But also something I know I’ll wear all-the-freaking-time. It was a gift from myself, to myself, on my birthday last year. The grunge coat was a late summer purchase back home, and even though it’s not the best piece in the world, I love the pattern and how relaxed-cool it makes me look. Paired with my favorite red boots and green cardigan, it was a recipe for success.

I have to say, I was a little hesitant to pair green and red but, hey, if Alessandro Michel can do it, why can’t I?
