I’ve been rambling a lot about how I’m completely addicted to beauty vlogs and how much I’m learning from these amazing women that take so much time to show us the techniques we can use in real life. All of the videos I’ve watched cover the basics of prepping the skin for the make-up products we apply, and what’s been interesting to notice is how everything actually works better when you don’t skip the steps.
Thayers Rose Water.
Step one: I normally take care of my skin the previous night so, in the morning, when I wake up, I just rinse my face with cold water and tap rose water to remove any stubborn remains. You can use your go-to toner.
Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, La Roche Posay Effaclar H, Estée Lauder Day Wear SPF 50.
Step two: I started to incorporate my serum in my morning routine as well because it’s a great base for all the products you are going to apply and it helps your skin absorb better the moisturizers.
Step three: I start by applying my regular moisturizer from La Roche Posay and, more recently, started to use a day wear face cream with SPF 50. I’m never leaving the apartment without it again because it provides an amazing protection and, even during winter, I make sure I apply it.
Dior Glow Maximizer Primer.
Step four: I got this primer late last year and I’ve been applying it religiously before I put on any make-up. I have a slightly dull complexion and feel like I need some natural glow and this Dior primer seems to give my skin the boost it needs.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ‘Vanilla’, Zoeva Brush, Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat ‘Luminous Ivory’.
Step five: after I let everything settle, and if I’m not applying any foundation, I apply concealer to cover my dark circles, the corners of my nose and my chin, blending it in with a brush.
Step six: this is also something pretty new to my routine but it works wonders – especially for us girls who have pretty prominent dark circles. I apply this YSL highlighter under my eyes and any blemishes or red dots I might have, again blending it with a brush.
This takes me around 5 minutes every morning and it ensures my skin is ready for powders, shadows and liners. My daily routine has been very consistent and most of the days I only contour a little and apply a bit of mascara and lipstick. I don’t like to have strong make-up but rather natural looking and this seems to work perfectly.
