Better Together

There are so many beauty products out there that can be overwhelming choosing what works best for us. Whether you love to try new things or always stick to the same formulas, basically every woman knows what she like and doesn’t. I’ve come a long way from the days I wore exclusively Nivea products but, after a few years sticking to the same thing, my skin started to react aversively.
I then switched to more specific products, mainly from La Roche Posay and now, stick to a few things that work great on their own, but even better together! I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube beauty videos (kind of obsessed!) and a lot of them try out new products every other video but, what seems to be consistent is the use of products that work when used together. These are the products that seem to have a better effect on my skin when paired.

I’ve been using the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum for almost two years now and couldn’t be happier with it. I’ve recently started to incorporate it in my morning beauty routine and the results are even more noticeable. When we go to sleep, our skin cells start their regenerating process, which means we should apply products that help start it. These two are my go-to for night beauty routine and even though they can be a bit pricey, they last for a long time – both of the above are going on 9 months.

Another thing beauty bloggers recommend, is using the same brand of products for a specific target, e.g. the Chanel foundation and concealer. I’ve actually been switching and trying new concealers but this is an old favorite that works perfectly with or without the foundation. But the two work magic when I apply them together, leaving my complexion shine free and looking amazingly smooth.

Both of these products were recent additions to my make-up collection but went immediately to my fav list. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit palette is an amazing contour and blush tool that evens out my skin perfectly and contours greatly when applied right. Of course you have to have the right brushes because otherwise, it’s impossible to hit the right spot.

You’ve probably never seen me apply colored eye shadow and the most I’ve come to do is a failed attempt of a smudge look. But I’ve recently come to learn that shadows are a great way to contour your eye lid and work great paired with a hinge of mascara, opening your look and making an eye statement.

Last, but not least, I’ve been drawing a lot lately on my lips. Again learned from the beauty bloggers who are living proof you can do anything with a little practice. The first time I tried the lip liner, I looked like Kylie Jenner and was a little bit freaked, but not to fear, I’m becoming better. Preferably, get a pencil that looks similar to the color of your lips so you can wear it with all your lipsticks and, like me, invest in more colors when you become better at it.
