Oh the skinny jeans! I still remember claiming to my mom that I would never, ever, wear skinny jeans. Now, look at me. There’s no other thing that has made its way in so many different colours to my closet. We should all own a pair of sexy skinny jeans that make us feel like we can take over the world. I know I have a couple that do.
I have a very specific body that doesn’t work well with some items – specially trendy items. But the return of – almost anything – high waister, makes me feel in heaven. I just love wearing a high waisted skirt. It draws the attention to my hips (not in a Kim Kardashian way) and makes me very elegant and long, since my torso is proportionality smaller to my legs. Specially if I wear a t.shirt tucked in or a crop top.
Aren’t leather jackets the greatest? Sure, they won’t keep you warm in those cold, cold nights, but they sure make you look like a rock star in an effortless style. I wear them with almost anything and everywhere. They look good over dresses, shirts and jeans, skirts and crop-tops, you name it. I own two and almost every fall use them like cray-cray – especially the one with a little faux fur on the front.
Capes are easy and they just look good. You can throw them over any outfit and you’re ready to go. I’ve used the same one for the last, I don’t know, three or four years, and it’s still up to date. It’s this pleated cape in black, grey, white and light brown, just the cutest. I normally wear it over jeans , knit and boots but sometimes combine it with a more date-y kind of look (more on this over the next days).
I understand knitwear is not necessarily a trend but I just love, love, love it. I used to wear matching knits and jackets that my grandmother bought for me and it would be my favourite outfit of the season. She had impeccable taste and spared no expenses when it came to dressing me up. I miss her. Knit wears are comfy, fall-y, winter-y, casual and very, very simple to use. Nothing can go wrong with knits.
