I think it’s safe to say that living in New York, for almost two years now, makes me a beginner expert on knowing the best brunch spots in town. Almost every weekend I go, either with M or my girlfriends, to have brunch at a new place – expect for those days we don’t want to think and go to a favorite. I decided to round up my top five brunch spots in Manhattan and Brooklyn to give you ideas when you lack of or are visiting and want to try the best in New York.

This is my favorite brunch spot ever in Manhattan. The first time I went there I just wanted to yell at the bowl I was having for being so amazingly good. The second time was even better! It’s so well made and the ingredients combine together like nothing else and, even though the space is quite small and normally you always have to wait, the food is worth the while.

I just recently discovered CafĂ© Henrie in the Lower East Side and its environment is very 50’s inspired and relaxed cool. Their bowls are also great and it can be perceived by a bit of the same, but I just love the space and how well decorated it is. You feel like you’re entering a new era and leaving the 21st century behind.

This is an old favorite and I’m always going to return to Cafe Mogador in Brooklyn. The food is good but there’s always a long wait line, even though it’s always worth the wait. This is definitely M’s favorite brunch spot and if it was for him we would go there every other weekend.

Just went to Navy one time, so far, but it automatically went to my top five brunches in New York. The avocado toast was definitely the best I ever had and everything was combined to perfection and while the place is very small and cozy, it has an old vintage feel to it with books lying around and rustic tables. No waiting needed that day!

This is probably the one place I’ve been the most out of the five but because it’s an old favorite of my friends. When we don’t know where to go, we head over to Bluestone on the West Village and, especially in spring and summer, it’s very pleasant to eat outside and gaze at the surrounding neighborhood.
