What I Wore to NYFW

NYFW

NYFW is an abode of inspiration. Every single day, my creativity was flowing and I was taking note of everything I saw. Of course, majority of the time I wanted to be as comfortable as possible. I had an idea of how chaotic it could be, and since I had to carry so many things with me, comfort was absolutely key. While keeping true to my style and essence.

The first day was a surreal blur. I didn’t know what to expect. So I put on a pair of newly-purchased corduroy pants, a turtleneck because cold, and a shoulder padded long plaid coat. Added my favorite pair of earrings and, by the end of the day, realized it was a huge mistake. I was very comfortable throughout the day, but it was one of the coldest days of the week. Needless to say we were constantly stopping at places to warm up.

Because day one was such a long day, on Friday, I just went for the most comfortable outfit I could think of, jeans, sneakers and a baby blue blazer. I recently posted the look on Instagram and had a lot of people saving the photo. In this day in age, it’s always a good sign. I topped it off with my pink faux fur. Later that day, we went to a Tom Ford event, so I changed into a more appropriate attire. My lovely high-waisted navy pants, a shirt and my pointed booties.

Because we were shooting early morning, I didn’t really dress the part. After I came home, I changed for an event into this beautiful pencil skirt, with a white tee and my Helmut Lang leather jacket. Yes, I was cold, but the outfit was totally worth it.

Monday was our busiest day of the week. There were three shows to attend, a few looks to shoot and the Chanel presentation. I knew I wanted to have two looks that day, so I wore this first one in the morning. The temperatures dropped a lot, so I was uncomfortable – even though this was my favorite look of NYFW week. Later in the day, I changed into my polka dot skirt and my husband’s blue knit. This was the look of dreams, honestly. I loved it so much, I’ve already worn it twice.

What do you think about the looks? Any favorite? I’d love to know!
