Most of my days are spent in our apartment. Working, reading, chilling. But every week, I commit to go out – with a friend or by myself – to enjoy what this city has to offer. I realize it only comes this easy because I work from home and manage my own schedule. But something I always enjoyed to do, back home or here, is to get to know the place I live better. Spending an afternoon in Manhattan is always a sort of adventure. Hence the #lifeofadventure I often associate with my Instagram pictures.

SoHo is one of the highest populated districts in the city. And often where we hang out the most. A lot of my favorite restaurants are there, and great shops as well. So it’s only natural that, when we’re deciding where to have dinner, it easily falls on it. This particular afternoon in Manhattan was spent with a friend. Going to old favorites and exploring new places.

We first had lunch at By Chloe. A vegan franchise with the best burgers in town. It’s normally very crowded, but you have to be strategic with the time. We went around 3PM on a Thursday and it was empty. Or nearly. I had the classic burger which is to die for. All the food is tasty and deliciously decadent. The Bleecker Street location was the first one in Manhattan and is located in a very hip area. So many restaurants fall there. But the black and white striped hood gives the place a head start.

Ridiculously close to Washington Square Park, it’s easy to just grab food and enjoy the iconic scenery in the park. While my mother was here, 2 years ago, we enjoyed a lovely meal while listening to some saxophone and gazing upon a guy offering free hugs. There’s always so much to look forward to in an afternoon in Manhattan.

After lunch, we walked by The Apartment. A fairly small and common name for a big and beautiful store. You walk in directly into an actual apartment to find yourself in the living room of your dreams. Everything you see is for sale. And the curation is just beyond unbelievable. I was stunned and wanted to enjoy it as long as possible. In the crowded Greene St, you could access a beautiful SoHo apartment. Without any commitment whatsoever. I just got a Filt Large Net Bag, which you can see here.

There are so many great places where you can spend an afternoon in Manhattan. But the West Village and SoHo are certainly on my top few. Make sure you visit both locations and enjoy a day of healthy eating and shopping.
