If you’ve been following me for a while, have ever been in New York during winter, or just like to know about other city’s temperatures, you know it’s a struggle to wear a skirt this time of year. It’s not feasible and the cold is too much to handle. But fortunately, there are days, where New York lets up a bit and temperatures are good enough to sport a good ol’ skirt. But not any skirt. My favorite pleated skirt.
I’ve worn it so many different times and different ways, it’s all a bit fuzzy. But this has to be one of my favorite. On the same day I took these pictures, I read an article about spotlighting. And spotlighting is when you’re wearing an outfit that’s pretty much monochromatic and add a standout piece. This standout piece can be anything from a colorful pleated skirt to a bright and bloc colored bag.
We can tell that, in this ensemble, the queen is not the skirt but the sweater. The one spotlight item that draws all the attention in an, otherwise, bit boring outfit. But this isn’t just any sweater. It’s the fluffiest, coziest and snuggliest sweater in the world. That’s right, I said it and dare you to try them. They come in a lot of different colors, but I’ve been looking for a burgundy sweater for a while and, the solution was obvious once I spotted this baby at & Other Stories.
