The Piece That Can Be Worn With Everything

Even though my outfit lately consists of a skirt, top and messy, natural hair, the weather in New York is way cooler. Which means, I have to get the jeans out of the closet. Which ultimately means, comfy looks for work, brunch and errands. I’m often a very practical girl and this outfit formula suits and pleases me so. I got this parka in Portugal and it’s been a go-to for this transitional weather – what’s a girl to wear? And I’ve been realizing that I was totally missing a military parka in my life, because it absolutely goes with everything. And what’s better than finding a piece that can be worn with everything in your closet?

Parkas are the bomb dot com and make you look so badass.

Especially over a striped shirt and casual Frame jeans. The overall look has a very formal-office kind of vibe that gets cut by the military vibes of the parka. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I love a piece that disrupts an entire look. Creating an unpredictable touch to it. I could’ve easily worn a blazer, but then it would be too formal. These pictures were taken early morning, before me and M went to work. I love waking up early and feeling that by 10am I’ve done a bunch of things and crossed off most of my to-do list. And more importantly, it gives me a few extra minutes to spend with my husband!

The pictures were also taken close to our apartment, for practical reasons, and right in front of the MoMa PS1. It’s a branch of MoMa right here in the heart of Long Island City, which I’ve yet to visit. Trying to figure out what the free days are – and I even heard they throw great parties in the summer (hint!).
