Working in New York City

working-in-nyc, finding-a-job-in-nyc, jobs-in-nyc,

Today marks exactly one month since I started working in New York City. I briefly mentioned it here but kept it vague because you never know where it takes you. It all started last year when I applied to a fellowship, had a phone interview but nothing happened. Around March this year, I was contacted again to be a part of the project for three months and we started up the conversation. Around April I got together with one of the founders and he explained what they’re all about, their goals and what my job description was. After going back and forth for a bit, I said yes and have been working there since May. It’s been a great work and social experience and it’s always fun to be a part of a start-up project!

Everyone’s been really nice to me and I’ve been trying to keep up with whatever they need me to do. Good thing is, I still get to work from home a few days a week and join the team when they all get together. They work in this great co-op space either in lower Manhattan, where you might have seen a few pictures on my Instagram, or in Brooklyn near Prospect Park.

I’m thankful to be given this opportunity and hope to make the best of it, if not just to get more experience and meet great people. Here’s to the next few months!
