Do you ever feel like sometimes you need a day-off from normal food? Or you’re just feeling bloated and food will only make it worse? I happened to feel like that a few weeks ago and had this idea for a post to see how I would feel at the end of the day. So one day, I took a trip to Whole Foods and started looking for already made healthy juices. I thought about making them myself but given that I don’t have experience, or the tools, to do them, I preferred going for the already-made-thing. After half an hour, I decided to go with three juices from the RAWPOTHECARY: Wholly Cacao, Kalefornia and Green Warrior. All filled with juice goodness! I’ve never tried them before this experiment and was happily surprised to find how delicious and nutritious they were.
Morning juice: I had the Rawpothecary Wholly Cacao for breakfast at around 10am. It took me an hour and a half to finish as I was sipping through it slowly. I thought it would be better to have this one for breakfast as it didn’t have kale or spinach – I kind of find it weird drinking vegetables in the morning. You can actually taste the ingredients and being vegan, nut and dairy free, makes it a great choice for me – with all my food constrictions.
Afternoon juice: I had the Green Warrior with Kale and Spinach. I had it between 1:30 and 4:30pm. Giving that I was working all morning and afternoon, it was easy to sip it slowly and not drink it in one take. This one was not as tasty as the Wholly Cacao but was more filling, in a sense that I wasn’t hungry until later afternoon.
Evening juice: the last juice was called Kalefornia and its main ingredient is kale and banana. It took me around 1:30 to drink it all. This one, I have to admit, was the hardest to drink because of it had a strong kale flavor and a bit of banana.
I think the overall experience was positive but, by the end of the day, I was feeling a little bit hungry and in need of another type of intake. I’m not an expert and did this experiment at my own expense but do not recommend it as a normal diet or an everyday meal substitute. It’s good to do it once in a while, and experts recommend that you do it no more than three days. If you feel like Rawpothecary or other juice brand is not for you, try doing it yourself, there are a lot of juice recipes out there you can easily try at home.
