Last week and earlier this week, here in New York, the weather wasn’t calling out for any sun action but I’m guessing that half the world is in a beach-season-state-of-mind, so this goes out to you (and hopefully for us here in no time). I’ve always been an avid user of sun screen, having a soft, sensitive and very light-colored complexion, it’s hard not to. We all know, met or have seen someone older with a sun-exposed-skin and know exactly what it can do.
Ten years ago I was only worried about getting a tan! Growing up in a beach city, summer was all about going to the beach from dusk to dawn and not applying any sunscreen whatsoever. It’s quite scary to think about it now but gladly, those days are over. Now, it’s all about my essentials and top products worth investing and why you should apply sunscreen.
This year, I decided to get the Anthelios 40 from La Roche Posay because I trust their moisturizers and they are my go-to brand all year long. The texture, absorbedness and smell, work great on my skin, but took me a long time to find the right products. Even if I’m not going to the beach, I make sure to have a slight layer before I apply the concealer (which also has SPF). I also got the Capital Soleil 50 from Vichy, which is a foaming lotion that quickly spreads out and doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky.
Exposing your skin to the sun is no joke and every protection you can give it, do. These are going to be my summer-long-go-to-products, make sure to get the ones you normally do or try out new products that will guarantee day long protection.
(A special thank you to R for letting me invade his house and take this picture!)
