Guacamole recipe

I have a very famous recipe that was sort of an heirloom from my mother: a homemade guacamole. I’m highly proud of it because it’s honestly the best guacamole I’ve had, even more so than in restaurants. A few days ago, I asked my mother for some help to recreate it for a post and finally reveal a sort of a family secret – which is so ridiculously simple, you won’t even believe it.

Step 1: we start by cutting the avocado lengthwise, all around the seed, making it easier to remove it with a knife and then scoop off the avocado’s pulp.

Step 2: mash the avocado with a fork as much as you want, we normally leave a bit of crumbs, making the guacamole tastier. Add salt, pepper, a small onion and half of a garlic head to your taste, but make sure you don’t exaggerate, taste it as you go.

Step 3: Add half or one whole juice from a squeezed lemon, again, make sure you taste it along the way to guarantee it comes out to your preference. Start peeling of and chopping a tomato, again, we leave it as crumby as possible to actually taste the different ingredients, but some people prefer it a lot more softer.

Step 4: Mix everything up with the same fork you used to mash the avocado. Blend the ingredients together for a few minutes, making sure everything is enfolded in the avocado. Serve it with tex-mex chips or any other chip to your liking and enjoy.
