Drawing Inspiration From Burberry #1

Drawing inspiration from the pages of the Burberry book is a challenge. Or from any high-fashion brand for that matter. I was reading an article on BoF and ended up here. So naturally I browsed through all the 79 looks for the Autumn of 2017 – which is where we find ourselves. And ended up, somehow, recreating two of them with my own clothes.

I find it fascinating to pick runway looks and give them a personal spin. With so many fast fashion options to choose from, and fashion being so cyclic, it’s possible to already own pieces you covet. For example, I’m seeing a lot of pink sweaters around street style girls. And I have a pink sweater I love, but wasn’t at it’s prime when I bought it two years ago.

Fashion is about reinventing pieces you once adored – and for some reason decided to keep. Burberry has always been sort of a goal brand to me. Even though it epitomizes the preppy-chic look, it’s also a bit grungy and old school. The combination of the plaid pattern with the combat boots, or socks with heels just tickles my fashion tonsils so bad. And then I thought, I could. So here are my two favorite looks inspired from the Burberry runway of fall/winter 2017.

Note: this is a very interesting article about Christopher Bailey leaving the Burberry house. And to add, my favorite collection so far was the Fall 2014 Read-to-Wear. Everything is worked out. Thank you for your patience.
