Episode 15: I Went to the US Open with the Portuguese

Last week, the US Open qualifying started. For my husband, that’s the event of the year. Heading out to Flushing Meadows, hanging out with his friends and other players. Soaking in all the tennis he can. Early last week, I went to watch a derby (two Portuguese playing against each other). It was a fun and quiet Tuesday. I love seeing M at these events, it brings out a part of him I’m not used to hanging out with. It reminds me that he’s such a pro and knows so much about what he does.

Later that day, we got an email saying that our probation cards had arrived in the mail. We’ve been waiting for quite a while and could not travel back home before it arrived. I started to cry as I was reading the email, and called M to share the good news. He wasn’t sure if I was crying or laughing, and I’m sure I was doing both. You can read a bit more about it here.
