Every time spring rolls around the corner, it never feels like it in New York. You can see trees and flowers blossoming, but that’s about it. This particular March has been extremely cold – and different from the winter we’ve been having. But there’s always a boost of energy when the clock turns, the days get longer and you start to get excited to do things out. Especially here and even if it’s cold. I love spring in New York. You can feel the shift in the overall vibes and the rise of spring intentions.
That’s why I decided to celebrate it with this cool-spring-y outfit. You remember these pants seen here and here. They’re still one of my favorite, but least worn, pieces. I don’t necessarily have an explanation. But since I love them, I recently fished them out of my closet and have them on display for easy access. All part of my spring intentions. And if we back a few weeks, when the weather was pretty mild, I was indeed, going to wear them. But then it got cold, snowed, I got a bit sick and had to postpone it.
These pants have such a feminine touch and the pastel colors are just beautiful. With that said, they can look too feminine for me, hence the butchering up with the denim jacket and slouchy t-shirt. While I love how the ensemble looks, I also love to combine it unexpectedly. And I recently had a major compliment given to me by a friend. She told me that she loves how I combine certain things and how she would never think to do some of the combinations. But loves the way I do it – and even saves my pictures on Instagram. How fucking uber-cool is that? I told her the same. She has the simplest of styles but I’m always in awe of how she combines it. #empowering.
By the pictures, I think you can tell how at ease I am in this outfit. And after figuring out my number 1 summer outfit formula, here’s number 2. A pair of cool pants (these ones would also look great), a statement tee and either some sneakers, sandals or slippers. Plus, a basket bag. I’m currently obsessing over .
