Some new books that arrived the past week.
On Friday, I felt exhausted and so glad it was the weekend. I woke up late to work, had lunch with some friends, went back to work, came home, took Poppy for a vets appointment and went back home. I was feeling like shit. Shitty, shit, shit. I’ve had a tough week and the temperature changes started getting to me. On Saturday, I woke up feeling weak, tired and roughly energetic – which was a bummer, since I had a charity concert later that day. I cleaned the apartment, worked a bit, went for brunch with a friend and ended the day at Barclays Center.
I went with three other girlfriends to TIDALX15 – which sounds like a discount code. It’s a charity concert organized by Beyoncé and Jay Z. A line of rising and established artists that come together to raise money for the Robin Hood Foundation. This foundation aims to end poverty in New York. To be very honest, we were all super excited to see Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Nicki Minaj and so many others that went there. But there was also a big line up of rising artists in a genre we don’t really appreciate. So it ended up being so and so. But, overall, it was worth it – hey, seeing Queen B is always – and the money goes out to an amazing cause.
On Sunday, I was meant to go to a birthday brunch but woke up feeling sick. The temperatures are changing so much in New York and I end up not knowing what to wear. Already weakened from the week I had, so came Sunday, my body took a turn. I only left the house to walk Poppy and stayed in all day watching documentaries on Netflix.
I hope you had an amazing weekend, spent doing everything you love and feel ready to tackle yet another week. Have a good one!
