It’s safe to say that the last three weeks have been highly different, exciting, tiring, emotional and life changing. I feel like something is shifting and I can’t quite grasp it or know what’s going to happen – even though you never know. I felt disconnected to the way I was doing things and perceiving them around here, lost in the realms of social media, posting very mechanically and feeling like my content wasn’t inspiring – and you might’ve noticed.
It’s hard to focus on several different things at once and not have a plan about what you’re doing next and, while I can be quite organized and schedule things pretty well, what these past weeks have proven is that you can’t always control everything. Late April we had our first trip to California (one of the vlogs is already up) and, I felt like I wanted to shut down a bit but also pressured to still post content, interact with my followers and the people I follow and ended up feeling stressed that I was missing out – serious FOMO here.
The day we arrived, my brother and sister-in-law also did, for 10 days of visiting and, with no time to organize everything, we went daily to Manhattan, arriving home late and, yet again, I was feeling the pressure to stay active, which led to this week, where I wanted and needed to be on my best two feet and ended up feeling exhausted, physically, mentally and without any energy left for extra-curriculum activities.
You may have noticed that the number of publications on the blog decreased and that I’m getting more active on Pinterest, Instagram and Snapchat. As social media and the blogging world evolves, we must evolve with it and figure what we can do to adapt – or die. It’s not a if/or situation but for the past few months I’ve been working very hard on changing things around here and even my own – and at times very stiff – perception of how it they should be done.
This post is, in its core, a thank you for sticking around, reading when you can, returning if you like and sharing what you feel connected to. Great things are happening to I Life You and I hope you stick around to see them or, if you’re new, welcome and I hope you enjoy it!
Have a great weekend guys and make sure to follow me on social media for updates of what’s going on!
