Back in Portugal, April is always a messy month. You never know what the weather is going to be like, some days it’s raining, others it’s beach weather. Here in New York, it’s going to be my first April, so let’s see what it brings. I hear a lot of people saying they don’t like running or going to the gym. Well, my advice is to find something you like or love doing, and do that. Whether it’s walking, yoga, tai-chi, karate, biking or hiking. Getting flowers for your apartment is always a good way to brighten the place up in cloudy days and you’ll see how you instantly feel better as well. I’m always thinking about this rule: if you have time to sit on your couch you have time to workout. Instead of procrastinating, just challenge yourself to go on the floor and do some abs or squats. This has become a nightly and morning ritual, always washing my face before going to bed and after waking up. It cleans up your face without drying it and, after, apply moisturizer. If you’re having a tough week, like I did last week, treat yourself to something nice. Buy something, eat a doughnut, or make your favorite cheat meal. This can not be said enough: always go up the stairs and have a wonderful month!
