Gingham isn’t anything new to our sights, but Spring 2015 resurrected the all American barn dance pattern and, apparently, what Brigitte Bardot wore to her wedding. It’s brought up in a whole new sophisticated and sexy way that makes it OK for grown-ups without pig tails to wear.
To be honest I’ve never worn suede in my entire life. I remember a suede military blouse my mother sported a long time ago and it just looked amazing paired with jeans. It takes us back to a 70’s mood and the runways were filled with it, in all shapes and colors.
Denim has always kind of been there. This way around in all sorts of iterations: pants, blouses, shirts, overalls, skirts and even in shoes and bags. I remember saying that I would never wear denim on denim and now, I’m beginning to tone down my aversion and actually start considering it. I’ve tried a kind-of-failed-attempt at it with a pair of dark denim skinny jeans and a loose and light J.Crew shirt.
Midriff is a part of the human body between the chest and the hips. Never a fashion statement made so much sense. I feel it’s almost like showing your ankle back in the 1920’s. Just that slit of skin showing, in a crop top that accentuates your abs and a midi-skirt that elongates your booty and legs. I started to wear crop tops in September 2013 and haven’t stopped since.
A little shim a little shake. I used to associate fringes to those t-shirts you can buy at the beach and wear them exclusively to the beach. Now they are seen all around and even I bought a fringy bag that goes with me almost everywhere. Shimmer and shake a bit in this-probably-here-to-stay-trend that can turn your outfit into a glamorous dancer.
