With fall here, not only your closet needs some new basics. Your house needs them too, so you feel comfortable all season long. I normally start looking at different and more fall-y looking pillows, definitely try to find a rug or two to put on the couch for those movie afternoons or TV show nights, and a nice and warm duvet cover to substitute the spring/summer one. Little tweaks here and there that make your house feel more like a warm, cozy and cute fall destination.
These pillows have a very fall look to them. They sport warm colours, leaf-y patterns and soft fabrics, so you can have a Saturday afternoon nap and not feel the need to get your bed pillow.
Having a rug goes a long way. I’m a very cold person during fall and winter and one of my have-to’s of these two seasons is a rug to keep me warm when I’m watching movies or TV shows, or just reading a book. Needless to say, if it can keep you warm and be a decorative item, you’re in luck.
Every year, my mother would change my duvet cover come fall. I would store the spring/summer very thin rug and substitute with a duvet cover insert and a pretty duvet cover. We used to go to Zara Home, IKEA or Benetton. This year, I will probably get one from west elm. The only thing is, deciding which one!
Every now and then it’s good to change your cutlery. Currently, the ones I have are from IKEA, but I’ve been admiring these ones from west elm for quite some time. I love accent flatware and these are just beautifully shaped and coloured. Very in style with the holiday season.
Trays can bring a whole new look into the same old room. I recently bought one at IKEA to use in the kitchen so I’d have a place for the wine bottle and water. I decided to add some candles and a small glass to make it look nicer. It’s a great way to organize whatever you need, hold a candle and some books or even be used as a liquor holding tray.
