I feel like this post could be about any of the pieces I’m wearing. These pictures hold a lot of potential for: animal focused knits; spring mules; captain hats. But I decided to go for the unusual skirt. Because spring is almost springing, and we are going to shed some leg. Hopefully pretty soon. And like anything else I do, I always go for the weirdest pieces out there. Hence the unusual skirt title.
I’ve done a plaid skirt shopping guide before, but this feels like an updated version of the subject. Browsing through my favorite websites, there are so many beautiful and unusual options for spring and summer. And even though my collection feels set, there’s no harm in looking and trading in a few oldies for goodies. What this means is, I’ve set myself up for a new rule: every time I want to buy something new, I have to sell or donate something else first. Preferably an item in my closet that I haven’t work in a long time. But let’s talk about that later this week.
Onto the story of these photos. Every time we travel, I always like to have an early wake-up call on one of the days. There’s something special about seeing a busy spot with very few people (or none) as the sun rises. Especially in the Lincoln Memorial. I can’t tell you how magical the moment felt. And it always feels (see a few of those moments here and here).
