One Top, Two Ways: Going From Day to Night

one top, two ways

Mr. Larkin Lake Top, Massimo Dutti Skirt (similar), Mango Mules (similar).

The goal of every item in our wardrobe is to be worn several different ways. The art of picking up a top, and wear it with a skirt, jeans or shorts, is the holy grail. It means the item is versatile enough to support whatever you throw at it. That’s exactly what I tried to achieve here: one top, two ways. Two casuals looks, and how to go from day to night with just a few switches.

It’s Saturday morning and we have a brunch date, with friends, family or our significant other. We crack open the window and it’s the most beautiful spring day. I start with the bottom and pick out one of my favorite skirts (seen here). Then I move on to the shoes and pick a pair of slides. Gazing over my top section, I find this beautiful flower patterned one.

They key is to find the items that you can transition to different outfits. I just want to go home, quickly change the bottom half of my outfit and be, again, out the door. Especially on summer days, when all I want is to be outside, running like a gazelle. Everything else that comes my way is a plus already. Tune in on Monday to find out the night version of this outfit. One top, two ways.
