Fashion was always sort of a general knowledge to me. But since starting the course at Parson’s, it became a lot more referenced. I can now start to grasp where things come from and where they originated at. Like contrast seam. Which I’ll find the reference when I’m not falling asleep at 1 in the morning. But I know it dates back to the 1920’s, and it’s been around quite a few times. Including now.
I had a pair of jeans a few years ago that had a contrast seam. And I wore them til tear. After going around the trend, I succumbed and bought this skirt. It was love at first try. It falls perfectly onto my body, accentuates my qualities and makes me slender when I’m not. Contrast seam is just the perfect tailoring detail. It’s all over. And even though it may feel like a trend, there’s something you can always wear time and time again.
I’m still browsing other pieces (see my favorites below), but for now, I’ll stick with this beautiful piece. And still it as much as I can. Are you hoping on board of the contrast seam train? Would love to hear your thoughts.
