Episode 18: Sagres, the Most Western Point in the Algarve

Last Sunday, I drove with my parents and a friend to the most western point in the Algarve: Sagres. This small town is best known for its big waves, beautiful and natural sights and unmistakable beaches. Even though, there’s a big resemblance to Big Surfor a minute there I got really confused – there’s no place like it. One of my favorite thing to do back home, is travel around our area. In 20 minutes you can be in a totally different place. And that’s amazing!

We went to Praia da Cordoama, Sagres, Cabo de São Vicente and Pedralva. The later, is a very small town that has one of the best pizzerias in the Algarve. If not the best! I hadn’t been there in 7 years, when I first started dating my husband. It felt good to be back and experience the place in a different way. We walked around a bit waiting for our table and it’s such a typical Portuguese town. Very rustic and country chic.

Sagres, on the other hand, is a surfer’s paradise. The greatest beaches in the world are in Sagres and there’s so much beauty to it. Even during winter, it’s a great place to visit. These landscapes are magical to me and take me back to a time when things were simple and easy going – which I’m in much need as of lately. I hope you too get a bit of the feel they pour. And see some pictures here.
