Episode 8: the Hamptons and End of the World

Happy, happy Monday everyone! Writing this already in bed, at one in the morning, and posting a fresh new vlog. Yesterday we headed East in Long Island and spent the day in the Hamptons and Montauk. For those of you who don’t know, Montauk is the most eastern town in Long Island, and the Hamptons are on its way. We ventured out early in the morning to avoid traffic, but could not escape it later in the day.

The Hamptons are cute little towns where the very wealthy spend their summer vacations. It’s the cutest place to visit. The charm, simplicity and very characteristic constructions make it one of the highlights of New York. We even bought some vegetables at the Southampton farmer’s market – which I failed to record. I felt like we spent the day eating in Montauk. First we had lunch at the Bliss Kitchen, the sweets next to John’s Pancake House, then margaritas at Tacombi and something quick to go at Montauk Bake Shop.

We ended up only going to the beach at 6PM, because that was the only time that allowed dogs. It was still quite pleasant and we even slept a little. Getting out of the city is always a great way to end the weekend. When you spend most of your time in the same place, it can get quite tiring. Taking the day to go somewhere always helps me reboot – even if just for 12 short hours.
