Wearing Heels For Tea and a Chocolate Croissant

A few weeks back, my husband woke up and said he wanted to treat me to breakfast. It was early in the morning, we both got dressed quickly (I wore this outfit the previous day) and off we went. I normally stick to granola and yogurt, oatmeal or some toasted bread, but we were in a mood for chocolate croissant. A danger early in the day but hey, I haven’t had one in months. Of course, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity for wearing heels.

Granted, it was fucking cold out, and what’s not pictured are the UGG’s I wore instead of the heels. But we made it work, and the tea in my hand honestly kept me warm. But this is totally an outfit that could describe me. I feel at my best with a pair of high waisted pants, especially if I can work out a belt. I’ve been wearing this outfit with my pair of Converse Comme des Garçons Play sneakers, but wearing heels with it feels very elegant.

Moving on to the sweater – like always – there’s a story behind it. I bought it 4 years ago in Lisbon and it still resides in my closet. The reason why it’s so sentimental is because it was my first baggy knit. At the time there were mostly tight sweaters and this was one of the first I saw. It was quite expensive, so I waited until it was on sale – which worked out perfectly because no one wanted to buy it. 4 years in, I still love it as much and treasure it like an antique.
