Electric Blue and a Case of the Leopards

I’m not one to do this but, this outfit was only worn for the single purpose of taking these pictures. I intended to wear it for Sunday errands and a movie. But failed to realize how cold it was. After snapping the gorgeous golden hour pictures, I quickly headed home to change into some pants. But the remainder of the outfit endured. I found this electric blue sweater on an Instagram of someone I follow and immediately thought to myself: have to have it.

It was love at the first blue.

Finding cozy knits for fall can be a challenge. They end up being either too light or too hot. And this one if the perfect intermediate combination that makes any outfit automatically pop. I felt like the pairing with the wrap skirt, also seen here, was an improbable one that immediately made it come to life. It’s beautiful, simple and very sporty meets babe. While the sneakers and knit can be too casual, the skirt adds a touch of sophistication that glues the whole thing together.

The details are just a bonus. I’m keen on trying out this electric blue knit in several different outfits – like over a dress, with a pair of tailored pants and even, a pleated skirt. I’m halfway through embracing the sporty chic trend. It’s so futuristic and calls out for pretty details and accessories.

I would love to know your thoughts on the trend.
