Concealer Review

I’ve always had dark circles around my eyes, it’s genetic, I take after my father and ever since I started using make-up, finding the perfect concealer has been a battle. Truth be told, I had the perfect one but they discontinued it, so my search has been somewhat extensive. Last year I started using the Chanel concealer and thought it was the right choice for me but, apparently, there are better options out there. I’ve been trying three different concealers and have reached a verdict.

The Chanel Correcteur Perfection (02 shade): this concealer is great, has a matte finish and is quickly absorbed by my skin but, as you can see in the picture above, it doesn’t brighten up my eyes. During winter I always have to apply a highlighter for greater results and an extra pop but, for summer, when you just need a small touch up to cover up, it’s perfect and my definite go to.

The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (Vanilla shade): I have only started applying this one recently, as you can see here, but it’s already my favorite. I read and saw it a lot on blogs, tutorials and magazines, but I’ve never actually tried it. It has great coverage, feels like a perfect match for my skin and slightly highlights the under eye area making the need to highlight almost pointless – although I still apply a bit. This is my top choice!

The Diorskin Nude Concealer (002 Beige shade): last but not least, the Dior concealer is not my favorite. It’s quite thick, matte and none of the shades match my skin tone. I haven’t tried it during summer, which might be different, but so far, I only use it to cover small imperfections, mainly around the nose area and blemishes.
